What is Positive Psychology?

Positive Psychology takes a different approach to traditional psychology. Where traditionally, the field of psychology has focussed on treating mental health disorders, positive psychology instead switches the focus from what’s wrong, to…how can we make things better, or how can we improve well being.

Research has shown that enhancing the following five factors (PERMA) can improve well being:

  • Pleasure
  • Engagement
  • Relationships
  • Meaning
  • Accomplishment
